McChesney Kesterson Gregory of Glasgow, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2018.

She was born on June 7, 1924, to the late Junius and Minnie Kesterson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gregory, and a sister, Norma Garrett.

McChesney was a dedicated Christian and lifelong member of Glasgow Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, served on the session, and performed the duties of deacon and elder.

She was a member of the Rockbridge Woman's Club, the AARP Arthritis Club, the Red Hat Society, and the Glasgow First Aid Auxiliary, where she achieved Lifetime Member status.

She will be especially remembered for her love of family; her cooking and canning skills; her green thumb; her kind and giving spirit; and her unquestioning faith in the Lord.

She is survived by her daughters, Judith Thompson, Patricia Hunt, Rosa Ferguson and Donna Gregory and their spouses; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Julian Kesterson (Lucille); and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at Glasgow Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wayne Meredith officiating. Interment will follow at the Glasgow Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
