Obituary for Parker Lee Tingler, Jr. Parker Lee Tingler, Jr.
Car Shop Founder Was Retired MeadWestvaco Pipefitter

Parker Lee Tingler, Jr., 69, of 1010 Apache Court, Covington, Virginia died Sunday morning (April 8, 2018) at his home.

Mr. Tingler was born September 23, 1948, in Alleghany County a son of the late Parker L. Tingler, Sr. and Ada Martin Tingler.

He retired from MeadWestvaco as a pipefitter in 2005 after 37 years with the company. In 1987 he started Classic Auto Center used car sales on Craig Avenue in Covington and left that business in 1994 to open The Car Shop on Highland Avenue.

He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Joy Vass Tingler, of Covington; his son, Chris Tingler and Ashlei Balser of Covington; his sister, Dreama Wade, and her husband, Mike, of Covington.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Price officiating.

Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
