Obituary for Frank Wexler Hopkins Frank Wexler Hopkins
U. S. Navy Veteran Was Retired CSX Machinist

Frank Wexler Hopkins, age 89, formerly of 501 Wintergreen Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, April 16, 2018 at Carrington Memory Care in Daleville.

He was born June 13, 1928 in Lumberport, West Virginia to the late Frank and Grace Swiger Hopkins.

He served in the United States Navy and was a retired machinist for CSX Transportation with over thirty years of employment.

He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge.

Frank loved West Virginia University sports.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Hodge Hopkins.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Sheppard and husband, Mark, and a son, Frank Joey Hopkins and wife, Faye, all of Daleville; six grandchildren, Bradey Craft and wife, Teresa, Renee Jamieson, Nicole Grant and husband, Steve, Michelle Johnson and husband, Reid, Michael Sheppard, and Jon Hopkins and wife, Renea; and nine great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem with Reverend Lynn Wright officiating. Interment will immediately follow. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
