Obituary for Ethel Sue Nicely Dobbs Collins Ethel Sue Nicely Dobbs Collins
Former CNA Was Immanuel Baptist Church Member

Ethel Sue Nicely Dobbs Collins, age 80, of the Woodlands Heath and Rehab Center, and formerly of 614 Oak Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Woodlands.

She was born October 4, 1937 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Shadrick and Susie Viola Conner Nicely.

She was a C.N.A for the former Liberty House Nursing Home, a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, an avid Virginia Tech and Washington Redskins football fan, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene T. Collins; a sister, Evelyn Smith; and five brothers, S.L. Nicely, Richard Nicely, Arnold Nicely, Carl Nicely and Nolan Nicely.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha Jane Bennett and husband, Doug of Clifton Forge; a step daughter, Linda Lampkin of Martinsville; a son, James A. Dobbs III and wife, Amy of Georgia; three steps sons, Charles E. Collins and wife, Sherry of Selma, John Smith and Floyd Smith, both of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Margaret Griffith of Berryville, Hazel Burns and husband, Reverend John Burns of Buchannan, WV, and JoAnn Land of Roanoke; two brothers, Marion E. Nicely and Dennis Nicely, Sr. and wife, Peggy, both of Clifton Forge; four grandchildren, Brett Smith and wife, Giaynna, Drew Dobbs and wife, Leslie, Dylan Dobbs and Devin Dobbs, a great grandson, Grayson Dair Smith, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Dennis Nicely, Sr. and Pastor John Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Brett Smith, Drew Dobbs, Dylan Dobbs, Devin Dobbs, Raymond Thompson Jr, Brad Day and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422
