Obituary for Curtis Raymond Linton Curtis Raymond Linton
Retired WestRock Assistant Operator Dies At Age 68

Curtis Raymond Linton, 68, of Paint Bank, Virginia died Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Lewis-Gale Medical Center at Salem.

Mr. Linton was born June 8, 1949 in Covington, a son of the late Vernon G. Linton and Fleda Vaught Linton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Hinton in 1997.

He retired in 2012 from Westrock as assistant operator on #2 paper machine after 43 years with the company.

He was a member of the Humphries Chapel United Methodist Church, a Virginia Tech Fan, an avid golfer and hunter for many years.

Surviving are his four sisters, Alma Akers of Manassas, Allene Baker and Donna Clarkson and her husband, Roger, all of Paint Bank; and Shirley Nida and her husband, Johnny of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. David Brown officiating.

The interment will be made in the Paint Bank Community Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Bradshaw, Timmy Taylor, Gary Shires, Bruce Wood, Charlie Brown, Allen Meadows, Daryl Humphreys and Charlie Rider.

The family will receive their friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.

The family suggests that donations in Curtis' name be made to the Humphries Chapel United Methodist Church, Paint Bank, VA 24131.
