Former Halmode Presser Dies At Age 93

Anna Mae Higgins Gibson, 93, of The Springs Nursing Center, Hot Springs, Virginia died June 15, 2018.

Mrs. Gibson was born October 7, 1924 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Charlie Higgins and Daisy Virginia Bryant Higgins

. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by James Gibson Jr. and two sisters, Eva Treynor and Madeline Lemon.

Anna was a former employee of Halmode, Inc. as a presser.

Surviving are her son Charles "Pete" Gibson Sr. and wife, Sue of Covington; a daughter, Kathy McCauley and husband, Mike of Hot Springs; a daughter-in-law, Helen Gibson of Covington, ten grandchildren: Michael Gibson of Covington, Melanie Lamere of Covington, Sandy Judy of Williamsburg, W.V., Charles "Petey" Gibson Jr. of Covington, Melinda Andrews and husband, Ricky of Covington, and Steven Gibson and companion, Heather Wolfe of Covington, David McCauley and wife, Denise of Hot Springs, Laurie May of Covington, Travis McCauley of Charlottesville and James McCauley of Hot Springs; 21 great grandchildren and a number of great great grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Clark of Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Price officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.
