William Custis Cummings, 84, of Waynesboro, Virginia died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Augusta Health.

Born October 29, 1933 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Charles Franklin Cummings and Lumma Pearl Entsminger Cummings.

Mr. Cummings was a member of the Fishersville Baptist Church and retired as a traffic manager with ConAgra.

Bill loved all kinds of sports, hunting, fishing, car racing and most of all hunting white tail deer at his hunt camp at Jennings Creek.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Lou Owens Cummings; sons, William C Cummings Jr. of Chesterfield and Gregory L. Cummings of Mt Solon; a daughter, Catherine C. Swartz of Roanoke; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at Harrison Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018 by Dr Robert Moore III. Burial will follow at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Harrison Funeral Home.
