Hot Springs Native Was Former Bath County Deputy Sheriff

Anna Mae Woods Dierschow, 75, of 230 Bowmans Run Drive in Stuarts Draft, Virginia died Friday, July 6, 2018 in the Hospice of Shenandoah.

Mrs. Dierschow was born October 10, 1942 in Hot Springs, a daughter of the late Jennings Ledford Woods and Sylvia Mae Leary Woods.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Harry W. Baker in 2003, and a brother, Kyle Woods.

She had retired in 2003 after several years as a Deputy Sherriff with the Bath County Sherriff's Department. She was former member of the Traveling Retreads Motorcycle Club.

Surviving are her husband, Gerald Dierschow of Stuarts Draft; four daughters, Sandy Chirico and her husband, Paul of Palmyra, Kathy Brinkley of Brandy Station, Cindy Gilbert and her husband, Ken of Amherst and Terri Brinkley of Waynesboro; one son, Pete Brinkley of Millboro; two step-daughters, Doshia Dierschow of Dusseldorf, Germany, and Erin Marie Dierschow of Savannah, GA; one step-son, Shaun Dierschow of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren and one brother, Louie Woods of Hot Springs.

The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 4:00 Pp.m. at the graveside in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery at Crimora with the Rev. Tim Bohlmann officiating.

The Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
