Lexington Resident Was Retired USFS Customer Service Employee

Erma Elizabeth Clark Irvine, 89, of Lexington, Virginia died Friday, July 13, 2018 at Kendal of Lexington.

She was born March 19, 1929 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late James Wilson Clark and Minnie Siron Clark.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis W. "Pete" Irvine.

Erma was a member of Oxford Presbyterian Church and retired as a customer service employee of the U.S. Forestry Service.

Surviving are her four sons, Francis W. "Butch" Irvine II (Martha), Michael Irvine (Kitty), Chris Irvine (Marty) and Carson Irvine (Virginia); nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Black.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Collierstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at Oxford Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. Horace Douty. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Oxford Presbyterian Church, 143 Oxford Lane, Lexington, VA, or the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA.
