Betty Thacker Saunders, 80, of Glasgow, Virginia died Saturday, July 14, 2018.

Born June 24, 1938 in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Karl Thacker and Evvie Campbell Thacker.

Mrs. Saunders retired from the Rockbridge County School District, having served as a cafeteria manager.

She was a member of Elliott's Hill United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, John Leon Saunders; her sons, Timothy Leon Saunders and his wife, Kathy of Greer, S.C.; and Darrell Eugene Saunders and his wife, Courtney of Glasgow; and brother-in-law, G.W. Saunders and his wife, Frances, also of Glasgow.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Harrison Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Timothy Saunders. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Glasgow.
