Jerry Wayne Lipes, age 68, of 356 McDaniel Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia died Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his residence.

Jerry was born March 14, 1950 in Botetourt County, Virginia to the late Edley Harvey Lipes and Ruby Lee Ford LIpes.

He was a retired owner and auto mechanic for Jerry's Auto Repair. He loved helping and working for his farming friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Lipham and husband, Jody of Covington; a son, Michael Wayne Lipes; a granddaughter, Brianna Paige Lipham; a step grandson, Timothy Scott Lipham; two sisters; and five brothers.

In keeping with his family's wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Pastor Jody Lipham officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Road, Covington, VA 24426.
