Obituary for Agnes Kegley Arritt Agnes Kegley Arritt
Wytheville Native Was CNA; Worked With Industrial Rayon Corp.

Agnes Kegley Arritt, 88, died August 10, 2018 at The Carrington Place in Daleville.

Mrs. Arritt was born August 22, 1929 in Wytheville, a daughter of the late John Millard Kegley and Carl Smelser Kegley.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Arritt, Sr. in 2008; an infant granddaughter, Tara Diane Arritt; two sisters and six brothers.

Agnes worked for a time at the Industrial Rayon until the birth of her children, at which time she focused caring for her growing family. After her children were grown, she continued caring for others by serving as a CNA in various capacities.

She was a longtime member of McAllister Presbyterian Church in Covington and had been attending Green Ridge Presbyterian Church in Roanoke in her later years.

Surviving are her son, Robert Arritt, Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Daleville; a daughter, Donna Martin and husband, Jeff of Fincastle, four grandchildren: Boone Arritt of Daleville, Brook Arritt of Nashville, TN, Emily Keogh and husband, Justin of Roanoke, and Abby Ferguson and husband, Steven of Fincastle; three great grandchildren: Jack, Andi, and Beau; one brother, Peyton Kegley and his wife, Shirley of Charleston, WV; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday August 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Arritt Funeral Home.

The interment will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Arritt's name to McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church at 900 N. Alleghany Ave., Covington, VA 24426 or the Green Ridge Presbyterian Church at 7640 Alpine Road, Roanoke, VA 24019.
