Robert Joseph (Bobby) Jones, Jr., 72, of 214 E. Gray Street, Covington, Virginia died Saturday, August 11, 2018 at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.

He was born March 24, 1946 in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Robert Jones, Sr. and Helen Marie Thacker Jones.

Bobby graduated from the West Virginia University with a Master Degree in English.

He was self-employed lawn care service in the Highlands and supplied live bait to area retailers for fishing.

Bobby coached Little League Baseball and also coached football and basketball. He was a Pittsburg Steelers and West Virginia University fan. He was very passionate about gardening and fishing.

Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Armielda Anderson "Millie" Jones of Covington; his son, Bailey Matthew Jones of Covington; his daughter, Jennifer Jones of Covington; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Persinger and her husband, Robert of Covington; nieces and nephews and a special friend, Larry Andrews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive their friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

The family suggest that memorial donations in Bobby's name be made to the funeral home for his final expenses.
