James Curtis Brads, 76, of Lexington, Virginia died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born September 30, 1941 in Goshen, he was a son of the late Raymond Tolbert Brads and Margaret Elizabeth Hinkle Brads.

Mr. Brads retired from city of Lexington with over 27 years of service. James enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Surviving are his children, James Arlington Brads, Robert Allen Brads and fiance, Patsy Camden, Melinda Joyce Hughes and fiance, Derek Mains, and John Elden Brads; brothers, John Tolbert Brads and Jesse Velvet Brads; sister, Kathleen Clark; significant other, Barbara Hinkle and niece, Lori Dorey. Also two grandchildren, Shane and Christina Staton; and ex-wife, Judy Camden.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Jonathan Brads officiating.
