Guyon Potter Carawan, 85, of Buena Vista, Virginia was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 16, 2018.

Guyon was born March 28, 1933 to the late Rufus Carawan and Elizabeth Potter Carawan.

Guyon was the last survivor of 18 children.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Irene Fauber Carawan; children, James "Jim" Carawan (Lorrie), Kimberly Carawan, Roxie Berry, Eddie T. Berry, III (Patty), and Dawn Berry Clark; grandchildren, Cody Carawan, Caleb Carawan, Casi Carawan, Kelly Hassler Bayne, Anthony Jarvis, Haileigh Clark, Hunter Clark, and Johnathan Berry; and great-grandchildren, Madison Jarvis and Makenzie Jarvis; and many special friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Howard Boswell and the Rev. Bart Hellmuth.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. James Crews and his staff, Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital and Rockbridge Area Hospice for their care of Guyon.
