Alleghany County Native Dies At Age 87
Phyllis Hatter Crawford, 87, of Covington, Virginia died Monday, September 24, 2018 at Rocky Mount Rehab Center.
She was born on December 14, 1931 in Alleghany County, Virginia, a daughter of Hubert S. Hatter and Gladys Garber Hatter.
She was retired from Hercules.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by two nephews, Dennis A. Rider and Sam Wright; one niece, Susan W. Barnett; a special friend, Patty Gail Stone, and a number of great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her four sisters: Lois Hill of Clifton Forge, Thelma Scott of Clifton Forge, Leah Rider of Covington and Elsie Wright of Clifton Forge.
A private graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Alleghany Memorial Park.
The Loving Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
