Obituary for Robert Miller Sears Robert Miller Sears
Lewisburg Resident Was Manhattan Native

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Miller Sears announce his passing Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the age of 91.

He was a resident of Lewisburg, WV.

Bob was born to the union of Robert M Sears Sr. and Lila Prichard. Bob was born in Manhattan, New York on June 29, 1928 in an area they knew as, "Hell's Kitchen".

Some who know him well would say that is where Bob got his charming "spicy" personality from. Robert (Bob) Served in the United States Navy at the end of War World II in the Pacific theater. After his service in the Navy, Bob worked for several companies as a booker keeper/accountant and even taught bookkeeping as a second job at nights. He worked in his field for over 25 years before he retired.

Bob will be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness and infectious laugh and toothy smile. He loved to engage others in casual conversation (usually political topics), which would often become slightly intense, and then end with a smile on his face as if to say check mate! He enjoyed joking around with friends and never had real enemies. Even though Bob grew up in a tough part of Manhattan, he was kind and a neighborly kind of guy to everyone who cross his path. He enjoyed being a part of John Wesley United Methodist Church, especially being in the men's choir, where he made lifelong friends.

Bob leaves to celebrate his life and legacy the love of his life, devoted wife Bernice Frances Sears; his son, David R Sears (deceased) of New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Sears of New Jersey; his son, Karl R Sears and wife, Charmayne of Chicago; cherished granddaughter, Kira C Sears of Chicago.

We rejoice and celebrate a recipient of his love, prayers, wisdom, encouragement, grace and generous spirit.

Church services are set October 12, 2018 at 10 a.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 208 E Foster St, Lewisburg, WV. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, 16155 Midland Trail West, Crawley, WV 24931.

Visitation is Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, 884 Jefferson St., N. Lewisburg, WV.
