Clifton Forge Resident Dies At Age 27

James (Ben) Benjamin Curtis, 27, of Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018.

He was born August 2, 1991, the son of Melissa Gail (Hickman) Wilfong and the late William James Curtis.

Ben was raised and baptized in Lone Star Advent Christian Church, where he held membership. Always a country boy, he loved to cut firewood, coon hunt, fish, and always had a smile on his face. Additionally, he loved music, making up his own words to the songs, and to "cut-up" with family and friends - "you couldn't help but to laugh when he was around."

In addition to his mother, Melissa Wilfong and husband, Jamie of Burnsville, Ben is survived by grandparents, whom he considered parents, Michael and Roxana Curtis of Clifton Forge; brothers, Aaron Hickman of Burnsville, Chad Wilfong of Verona, Wade Wilfong of Burnsville and Cody Ingram of Craigsville; aunt, whom he considered a sister, Nicole Keene of Covington; maternal grandmother, Donna Hickman of Burnsville; maternal grandfather, Edward Hickman of Warm Springs; paternal great-grandmother, Doris Curtis of Clifton Forge; great-grandfather, Richard Roberts of Burnsville; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Lone Star Advent Christian Church with the Revs. Doug Moore and Grover Nicely officiating. Burial will follow in Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Active pallbearers will be Aaron Hickman, Chad Wilfong, Cody Ingram, Jamie Wilfong, Drew Hepler, Gary Gordon, Russell Wilfong, Keith Craft and Michael Jordan.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends and family in attendance.
