Obituary for Russell (Rusty) Andrew Wallace Russell (Rusty) Andrew Wallace
Rockbridge County Native Dies At Age 67

Russell (Rusty) Andrew Wallace passed away on October 23, 2018 at his home in Stuarts Draft.

He was born on August 27, 1951 in Rockbridge County to the late Andrew Lloyd Wallace and Frances Ovilla McDaniel Wallace.

He is survived by a son, Scott Andrew Plogger of Natural Bridge; three brothers, Bruce Gilliam of Buena Vista, and Gary Wallace and Bobby Wallace of Canton, Ga.; four sisters, Pat Morrow, Kathryn "Susie" Sindelar, Debi Wallace and Donna Phillips, all living in Georgia.

During his working career, Rusty enjoyed construction work and would lend a helping hand to whomever was in need. He also enjoyed helping his friends at the race track, building motors, and in his leisure time, watched Western movies.

In his later years, Rusty resided with and was a caregiver to his best friend, Ellwood Noel. When his own health declined, he moved to Stuarts Draft to reside with his caregivers, Jesse and Rebecca Taylor.

A special thank you goes out to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, Butch and Mary Taylor, Greg, Nancy, Taylor and Hannah Varner, Cody and Taylor Swisher, Ann Snead, Tonya Dovel, Nenna Farris, Salone Rohr, and Pete – the family pet, for all the love, kindness, and time spent to make Rusty's final journey comfortable.

There will be a celebration of life service in the spring of 2019. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to your local area hospice in his memory.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
