Obituary for Reta Miller Weeks Reta Miller Weeks
Longtime Alleghany County Teacher Dies At Age 76

Mrs. Reta Miller Weeks, age 76, of Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at her residence.

She was the wife of the late Joe Randall Weeks.

Mrs. Weeks was born January 31, 1942 in Rhondell, WV, the daughter of the late James Wesley Miller and Neva Ritchie Miller.

A member of this community since 1962, she was employed as a teacher with the Alleghany County School System with over thirty years of service, before her retirement.

Reta was a member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church as well as a member of Mac Moon Sunday School Class and Berean Bible Group.

Mrs. Weeks is survived by two daughters, Debrena Gordon and husband, John and Danette O'Conner and husband, Jimmy; six granddaughters, Gloria Gordon, Marlena Salalila, Victoria Johnson, Regina Gordon, Katherine Preston and Shannon Gordon; two grandsons, Cody O'Conner and Tristan O'Conner; two great granddaughters, Abagail Johnson and Charity Johnson; and great grandsons, Christopher Salalila and Izaike O'Conner.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Weeks was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Eugene Miller, Marvin Kent Miller and Wesley Miller, Jr.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Granbery United Methodist Church with Rev. Russell Urban officiating, assisted by Rev. John Godfrey. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cody Logan O'Conner, Tristan Blake O’Conner, Logan Andrew McCoy, Charles Salalila, Jr., Caleb Preston and Jeremiah Johnson.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
