Joan Rock Corner, 69, of Lewisburg, West Virginia passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at LewisGale Hospital in Salem, VA.

Joan was born May 23, 1949 in Bluefield, WV to the late Lawrence and Mary Rock.

Mrs. Corner attended the White Sulphur Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church and The Redemption Center; she held many titles, but her favorite titles were wife, mom, momma J, and Mimi.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Rev. Walter Irvin Corner in 2017 and her brother, Brady Byrd.

Survivors include daughter, Denise L. Honaker and husband, Michael of Lewisburg and their children, Andrew L. Honaker and Payton G. Honaker; daughter, Carole Gore and husband, Jim of Virginia; son, Mark W. Marrs of Lewisburg; God-daughters; Sarah Beth Marsolek and family of Virginia, Danielle M. Cadd and family of Virginia, Patricia L. Kirkwood and husband of Virginia; two heart adopted grandchildren, Raylen Boone and Hunter Howard; brother, Clarence Earl Byrd and wife, Leta of Virginia; niece, Nancy Cregger and family; nephews, Mark, Lee, John, Junior Cregger, and David Byrd and families. She will be missed by many friends and loved ones.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Sizemore officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.
