Obituary for Wallace Glenn Worley, Sr. Wallace Glenn Worley, Sr.
Covington Native Was Mail Truck Driver, Calvary Christian Church Member

Wallace Glenn Worley, Sr., 86, of 2031 S. Arden Ave., Covington, Virginia died Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge.

Mr. Worley was born February 3, 1932 in Covington, a son of the late Ira Lloyd "Brown" Worley and Katie Parker Worley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Worley and Phil Worley; a sister, Maxine Meyer; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Tucker Worley, and by an infant brother and infant sister.

He retired as a mail truck driver for the United States Postal Service with Swisher Trucking Company. He was a longtime member of Calvary Christian Church. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and mowers; he loved his animals, fishing and bird watching, as well as the weather.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mary Frame Worley of Covington; his daughter, Cathy Shiflet, and husband, Tracey of Great Mills, MD; his son, Wallace Glenn Worley, Jr. of Glen Wilton; four grandchildren, Tommy Pifer of Astoria, Queens, NY, Jeremy Worley of Hot Springs, Wendy Pifer of Savannah, GA and Kimberly Worley of Daytona Beach, FL; five grandchildren: Andrew Pifer and John Pifer, both of Goshen, NY and Micah Worley, Zoe Worley and Christian Lipes, all of Hot Springs; two brothers, Harold Worley of Colorado and James Worley of Charlottesville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Herman Smith of Clifton Forge and Sue and Jimmy Gregory of Waynesboro; a brother-in-law, Bob Meyer of Covington; close friends, Barbara Good and Jayson Lowden, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Warren officiating.

Interment will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.

The family suggests that donations in Mr. Worley's name be made to the Calvary Christian Church, 1329 S. Pond Ave., Covington, VA 24426.
