Cynthia Mae Thurston, age 67, of 1725 Main Street, Alleghany Health and Rehab, Clifton Forge, Virginia, and formerly of Glen Wilton, died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Alleghany Health and Rehab.

Cynthia was born March 10, 1951 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to Lillie Mae Scruggs Thurston and the late Houston Lewis Thurston.

She was a member of Glen Wilton Methodist Church, and loved writing, talking, and the company of others.

At the time of her death, she was survived by her mother, Lillie Thurston of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Raymond Lewis Thurston and wife, Linda of Bostwick, FL and Franklin Douglas Thurston and wife, Kathy of Glen Wilton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a number of cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Pastor Ray Sandifer officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Bottom Cemetery, Glen Wilton.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Robertson, Dillon Sydenstricker, Pat McPeak, Barry Fridley, Russell Thurston, Ray Thurston II, Bootie Salyards, and David Maddy.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
