Obituary for Thomas Russell Cooke Thomas Russell Cooke
VMI Graduate Was Longtime Grace Episcopal Church Member

Thomas Russell Cooke, eldest son of Virginia Langhorne Kinnier and Wylie Rountree Cooke, born July 31, 1928, died on November 20, 2018.

He was a 1949 Virginia Military Institute graduate, a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity and served as a 1st lieutenant at Fort Hood Army Base, Texas.

As an engineer he worked in Casablanca, Great Britain, Hawaii, Birmingham, and in various cities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

A member of Grace Episcopal Church for 40 years, he also served as senior warden.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Langhorne Cooke Hipp.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Virginia Bruce Cooke; a brother, Wylie R. Cooke Jr. (Holly); sister-in-law, Nancy T. Bruce; brother-in-law, Thomas A. Hipp; and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 2955 River Road West, Goochland, VA.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to VFRS, Rockbridge Baths, VA 24473.
