Boyd Franklin Horne Jr., 75, of Lexington, Virginia died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Lewis Gale Hospital.

Born June 7, 1943 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of Boyd Franklin Horne Sr. and Florence Moore Horne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Olive Ruth Higgins Horne.

He was a member of the Elliotts Hill United Methodist Church and retired from Washington and Lee University.

Surviving are his children, Bo Horne, Clarence Horne, Ruth Ann Hinkle and Anna Armstrong; sisters, Mary Hunter and Betty McDaniel; brothers, Wayne Horne and Bobby Horne; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lucy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
