Frank (Earl) Chittum, 88, of Buena Vista, Virginia died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Shenandoah Valley Health & Rehab.

Mr. Chittum was born November 4, 1930 in Rockbridge County. He was one of 11 children born to the late Glennie Chittum and Mary Shafer Chittum.

Earl enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling. He retired from the City of Buena Vista with 43 years of service. He was a beloved husband, father and Pawpaw.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Edna G. Chittum; four children, Steve Chittum (Sharon) of Buena Vista, Cathy Hamilton of Fairfield, Tim Chittum of Staunton, and Sherry Toombs of Waynesboro; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dean Staton. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 19 at the funeral home/church.
