James Edward Bayne, Jr., age 52, of 7202 Johnsons Creek Road, Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

He was born August 25, 1966 in Richmond, Virginia to Janie Nicely and the late James Edward Bayne, Sr.

He was a machine operator for WestRock and worked hard to provide for his family. He loved working on cars and spending time with his sons.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ruth Broughman.

He is survived by his two sons, Nathaniel Robert Bayne of Mont-Alto, Pennsylvania and Ryan Edward Bayne of Clifton Forge; the mother of his children, Dodie Millhollin Bayne of Clifton Forge; a sister, Tina Bayne Keyser and husband, Timothy of Glen Wilton; an uncle, Paul Broughman; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Stephen Keyser and Christopher Keyser.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge, with Mr. Patrick McPeek officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
