Obituary for Bruce Allen Paxton Bruce Allen Paxton
Alleghany County Native Was WestRock Retiree

Bruce Allen Paxton, 74, of 309 East Pennsylvania St., Covington, Virginia died Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

Mr. Paxton was born April 15, 1944 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Bernie Roscoe Paxton and Beulah Broughman Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charlie Brown, Robert Paxton, Calvin Paxton and Norman Paxton and one sister, Chrystal Brown.

He retired from Westrock and was a member of the Covington Paperworkers Union.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Anna Spinks Paxton of Covington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Bonnie Paxton, Jr., of Covington and Eric and Suzanna Paxton of Millboro; three grandchildren, Matthew Paxton, and his wife, Torie of Covington and Hayden Paxton and Macey Paxton, both of Millboro; six brothers, Donnie Brown and his wife, Kathy, Richard Brown and his wife, Rosie, Michael Brown and his wife, Suzy, and Patrick Brown, all of Covington; David Paxton of Iron Gate and Russell Paxton of Clifton Forge; five sisters, Darlene Brown of Sharon, Bertha Paxton of Clifton Forge, Linda Paxton of Covington, Kathy Paxton of Roanoke, and Betty Paxton of South Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the graveside in Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Clifton Forge with the Rev. Donnie Brown officiating.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, is handling the arrangements.
