Rockbridge County Native Was Clifton Forge Resident

Virginia Marlene Miller Seaman, 65, of Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away peacefully Monday, December 24, 2018 at her home.

Born December 13, 1953 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of Mamie Hall Miller and the late James Melvin Miller.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Jason Melvin Seaman.

She was an educator for 33 years with the Alleghany County Public School System, and was a member of Lauderdale A. R. Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her mother those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Julian Massie "Pete" Seaman Jr.; a daughter, Lindsay Seaman; a sister, Pat Mason and husband, Robert; sister-in-law, Harriet Allen; an aunt, Bob Powell; two special boys, Austyn Christman and Zachary Christman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, her best friend, Sandra Rubin, a beloved companion Pepper, and her many students.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Benjamin Dowling III. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lauderdale ARP Church, 300 S. Main St. Lexington, VA 24450.
