Marvin Berlin (Berl) Fitzgerald, 85, of Glasgow, Virginia died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehab.

Born December 13, 1933 at his home in Buena Vista, he was one of twelve children to the late Woodie Franklin Fitzgerald and Bertie Fridley Fitzgerald.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Thomas Fitzgerald.

Mr. Fitzgerald retired from Georgia Pacific and after his retirement was employed with Kroger in Lexington for approximately ten years. He also was a member of the Glasgow Rescue Squad.

He enjoyed gardening and was a huge fan of the Washington Redskins and Virginia Tech.

Surviving are his children: Debra F. Wilmer and Darrell E. Fitzgerald; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 4 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. W. David Bain.

The family with receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 3 at Harrison Funeral Home.
