Obituary for Jean Whiteside Edwards Jean Whiteside Edwards
Rockbridge Native Was Neriah Baptist Church Member

It is with great sadness, the family of Jean Whiteside Edwards, announces her passing on December 31, 2018.

She was born April 29, 1931 in Rockbridge County.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, William D. and Beulah C. Whiteside, and her sisters, Shirley Fitzgerald and Vivian Nicely.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harold F. Edwards; daughter, Sharon K. Edwards; brother, Edward Whiteside (Edie); sisters, Charlene Falls (Lewis), Dottie Whiteside, Emily Nuckols (Richard) and Phyliss Staton (Roy); brother-in-law, Reese Nicely. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her devoted feline companion, Cricket.

Jean was a member of the Neriah Baptist Church. She grew up on a farm in Rockbridge Baths and loved spending time with her family. She worked for many years at Suzy's Gift Shop and A Corner of Lexington.

The family would like to thank special friend and caregiver, Kimberly Branham and Rockbridge Area Hospice. A special thank you to the best friend a girl could have, Shirley Goodbar.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. William Thomas. Interment will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
