Obituary for Wanda Dale Clark Craft Wanda Dale Clark Craft
Alleghany County Native Was South Covington United Methodist Church Member

Wanda Dale Clark Craft, 87, of 1521 Mountain View Drive, Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Snyder Nursing Home in Salem.

Mrs. Craft was born December 24, 1931 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Harry Clark and Roxie Peters Clark McGlothen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James E. Craft, Sr. in 2013; three brothers, H.E. "Buddy" Clark, Wiley Clark and Manuel Clark and two sisters, Helena Muriel Piazza and Audrey Clark.

She retired from Leggett/Belk in Covington and later worked at Peebles and Hallmark.

She was a longtime member of South Covington United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities, her favorite being the choir. She will be remembered by all of us for her Sunday dinners, including fried chicken, green beans and, of course, dessert. She was known for her pies and cakes at family reunions and church dinners.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Snyder Nursing Home in Salem for their excellent care during the last two years of her life.

Surviving are her children, Sandra Pinnell and her husband, Robert, of Roanoke, James Craft, Jr. and his wife, Alice, of Moneta, Susan Craft of Annandale, and Phillip Craft and his wife, Gail, of Covington; her sister, Shirley Miller of Ashland; grandchildren, Kelly Buckle and her husband, Rick, Lauren Pinnell Shelor, Megan Pinnell Lucado and her husband, Chase, James Phillip "J.P." Craft and his wife, Paige, Alexander Craft and Cody Higgins; great grandchildren, Jakson Lucado, Kash Lucado and Urijah Buckle; her sister-in-law, Rebecca Bradshaw, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating assisted by Yun Goo Kang.

Entombment will follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence of Phillip and Gail at 3044 S. Wildwood Drive.

The family suggests that donations in Mrs. Craft's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
