Floyd Owens Groah, 90, of Raphine, Virginia died Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville.

Born September 9, 1928 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Ollie Houston Groah and Maggie Campbell Groah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elestine Frances Fitzgerald Groah; infant daughter; son, Bobby Groah; daughter, Angie Sandridge; and a grandson, Zachary Groah.

He was a member of the Marlbrook Baptist Church. Along with being a brilliant story teller, he always had a tune to sing. He loved his church, and spending time with family and friends, but the greatest love of his life was his wife "Stene."

Surviving are three sons, Danny Groah and wife, Joanne, Timmy Groah and wife, Debbie, and Tony Groah and wife, Penny; three daughters, Robin Ogden and husband, Rader, Cherrie Steele and husband, Eddie, and Paula Weeks and husband, Ronnie; brother, Frances "Cotton" Groah; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Marlbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Rader Ogden, the Rev. John Tilley and the Rev. Larry Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Marlbrook Baptist Church.
