Rockbridge County Native Was Life Member Of Lexington Fire & Rescue Auxiliary

Jane Morris Rogers, 77, of Lexington, Virginia died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at her home.

Born March 25, 1941 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Rucker Vest and Bessie Staton Vest.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Howard Rogers; brother, Ray Vest; brothers-in-law, Lewis V. Johnson, Michael Rogers and Bob Cunningham; mother-in-law, Ruth Hicks; and father-in-law, Bo Rogers.

She was an active and life member of the Lexington Fire and Rescue Auxiliary.

Surviving are her children, Mark W. Rogers (Rhonda), Brian H. Rogers (Kim) and Scott A. Rogers (Dana); sisters, Barbara Johnson and Ruby Camden (Charles); brother, Howard Vest (Darlene); sisters-in-law, Sandra Cunningham and Belle Rogers; brothers-in-law, Roy Rogers and Ray Rogers and their extended families; grandchildren, Harleigh and Zachary Rogers, Isaiah Ezell and Makenzie Camden; and many special friends to numerous to mention.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in loving memory of Jane to the Lexington Fire and Rescue Auxiliary, C/O Lana H. Nicely, Treasurer, 77 Kygers Heights Lane, Lexington, VA 24450.
