Patricia Ann Pleasant, 75, of Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

She was born February 6, 1943 in Covington, the daughter of the late William F. Pleasant and Frances Reid Pleasant.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Pleasant, James Pleasant, Thomas Pleasant and Paul Pleasant.

Ms. Pleasant retired from the Alleghany School System as a librarian at Callaghan Elementary School.

She was a member of Granbery United Methodist Church, where she very active in the church. "Ms. P" was excellent story-teller and loved working with children in the area.

Surviving are three sisters, Alberta Pleasant of Covington, Rebecca Miller and her husband, Ira of Richmond and Betty Smith of Raleigh, NC. Also surviving are a number nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church with Elder Gregory P. Moore officiating.

Interment will be made at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
