Obituary for Mitchell (Cory) Hayslett Mitchell (Cory) Hayslett
Clifton Forge Native Dies At Age 57

Mitchell (Cory) Hayslett, age 57, of 629 Brussels Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

Cory was born December 25, 1961 in Clifton Forge to the late William Kermit Hayslett and Laura Larman Hayslett.

He was a loving husband, loyal father, and adoring Paw Paw. He played guitar and sang with the Crimson River Band, and enjoyed riding motorcycles with his riding buddies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Scott "Scottie" Hayslett and Gerald Wayne Hayslett.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria Jordan "Vicki" Hayslett of Clifton Forge; four daughters, Shanda Bocook and husband, Jason of Botetourt County, Courtney Hicks and husband, Casey of Blue Ridge, Kayla Humphries and husband, Jon of Potts Creek, and Jordan Givens and husband, Jake of Emporia; three precious grandchildren, Bryce Hicks, Cam Hicks, and Ella Bocook; two sisters, Brenda Gayle Daniel and husband, Barry of Clifton Forge, Julie Leona Steese and husband, Fred of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin; three brothers, Ronald Elliott "Ronnie" Hayslett and wife, Lynda, Wade Franklin Hayslett and wife, Joyce, and Farron Eugene "Buster" Hayslett, all of Clifton Forge; a sister-in-law, Shirley Hayslett Mayo of Clifton Forge; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Pastor Lloyd Camp, Mr. Brad Day, and Pastor Mark Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Jason Bocook, Casey Hicks, Jon Humphries, Jake Givens, Doug Shires, Howard Nicely, and Barry Balser.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Victory Baptist Church, P. O. Box 2, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
