Barbara June Johnson, 76, of Lexington, Virginia died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born June 28, 1942 in Rockbridge County, she was daughter to the late Raymond Rucker Vest and Bessie Jane Mines.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis V Johnson; her son, Timothy Johnson, her daughter Tammy Harwood, her brothers, Ray and Eldridge Vest and her sister, Jane Morris Rogers; her brother-in-law, Rodney Howard Rogers, mother-in-law, Grace Agnes Johnson and father-in-law, LeRoy Johnson.

Her surviving children are daughters, Teresa Lois Johnson of Buena Vista and Tracy June McDaniel of Lexington. She is also survived by her grandchildren, April Chittum, Derek Chittum, Blake Chittum, Bret, Colton, and Savannah McDaniel, all of Rockbridge County, as well as her great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Dustin Hunter, McKenna and Hunter Chittum. A private family memorial will be held in her honor at a later date.
