Bettie Hunter Wade of Clifton Forge, Virginia was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Bishop W. I. Hunter and the Late Edith P. Hunter.

She had one daughter whom she loved dearly, the late Tamura Miller.

She was born August 27, 1937 in Covington, Virginia, and was a graduate of the former Watson High School. She later moved to Forestville, Maryland and Manassas, Virginia.

She retired form the Prince George County Sheriffs Department, and moved back to Clifton Forge, Virginia.

She leaves to mourn her three grandsons whom she loved dearly: Sterling Coles II, Wilson Coles, and Malik Miller; six great grandchildren: Tanarrah, Tiara, Darian, Sterling III, Jhalil, and Aria.

She was the youngest of 11 siblings. Her surviving siblings and in-laws are Phobe Dorcus of Portland, Oregon, Rosemary Wallace of Dover, Delaware, George (Jackie) of Seattle, Washington and Bernard Hunter Sr. of Buchanan; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Hunter of Buchanan and Berneice Hunter of Lousiville, Kentucky; her deceased siblings and in-laws include the late Doris Hunter Morgan, John Hunter, Moses Hunter, Sr., Harold Hunter, Sr., Elder Warner L. Hunter Sr., and Walter I Hunter, Jr. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She also had very special friends whom she loved dearly: the late Judy Martin, Mary Hughes Barber, Cynthia Yancey and Jeannie Jeter. She also had many friends at the Clifton Woods Apartments who will miss her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at her home church, the Gospel Tabernacle Church of God In Christ, with Elder G. Pete Moore Officiating. Active pallbearers include, Antonio Twitty, Keith Hunter, Pete Moore, Devon Helton, Bernard Hunter, Jr., Sterling Coles, Sr., Mark Hunter. Honorary Pallbearers include Charles Hunter, Stephen Hunter, Ralph Fitzpatrick, Floyd Davenport, Moses Hunter, Jr. and Gary Hunter, Sr.
