Obituary for Louise Anderson Senter Louise Anderson Senter
Longtime Educator Was Lewisburg Resident

Louise Anderson Senter, 98, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Greenbrier Health Care Center in Lewisburg, WV.

She was the daughter of John Anderson and Sallie Anderson.

She was born on the family farm on what is now known as Farmdale Road in the Meadow Bluff District, Greenbrier County, WV on January 21, 1921.

Louise graduated from the old Smoot High School before attending then, Marshall College, Huntington, WV. Graduating from the Teacher's School of Marshall College Louise started her long teaching career at various schools in Greenbrier County in the 40's.

She married Thomas Russell Senter in 1949 whom she met at Marshall College, and moved to Birmingham, England, where Thomas worked for the State Department. She taught at the prestigious American School before son, James, was born. They moved to the Philippines, where Louise taught at the American School in Manilla before giving birth to son, John. Moving back to the United States, Louise continued teaching 20 years at Woodhull Preparatory School in New York City from which she retired. When Thomas retired they moved back to Greenbrier County, WV and spent their retirement years in Lewisburg.

She is preceded in death by husband, Thomas Russell Senter of Lewisburg, WV, a brother, Charles Isaac Anderson of Cincinnati, OH and a sister, Betty Jo Stephens of Abingdon, VA.

Louise leaves two sons, James Russell Senter (Margie Senter) of Lewisburg, James and Margie's children, Thomas Senter, James Senter, Jr., both of Florida, and daughter, Erin Norton of Hohenfels, Germany; their grandchildren, Zach, Samantha, James, Christopher, and Lenny; and a son, John Ernest Senter; his children, Jake Senter, Scott Senter, and Brandon Senter, all of Virginia. Also surviving is a foster-brother, William Legg of Meadow Bluff, a nephew, Larry Legg, and nieces, Linda Shoemaker, and Louvonne Arbuckle.

As per Louise's wishes, she will be cremated and no public service will be held.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
