Nancy Schooler Nicely, 67, of 325 E. Hawthorne Street, Covington, Virginia died Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

Mrs. Nicely was born April 15, 1951 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late William L. "Jim" Schooler and Patty O'Conner Schooler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Chris "Cornbread" Garrett.

She was a CNA with Alleghany Home Health Care.

Surviving are Danny McCulley of Covington; her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jack Martin of Union, WV; her son, James Garrett of Covington; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Tingler and Becky Williams and her husband, Dave, all of Covington; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Betty Schooler of Clifton Forge, Wayne and Rose Schooler of Delano, CA, and Billy and Patricia Schooler of Elliston; and several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, "Sassy."

The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. David Brown officiating.

Interment will be made in Hokes Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive their friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
