Obituary for Cheryl LaRue Gibson Cheryl LaRue Gibson
Alleghany County School System Cafeteria Work Dies At Age 55

Cheryl LaRue Gibson, 55, of 1456 S. Howard Avenue, Covington, Virginia died Sunday, February 17, 2019 in Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital at Low Moor.

Mrs. Gibson was born July 17, 1963, at Keyser, WV, a daughter of the late Clifford and Lois McKay LaRue.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis LaRue and Kenny LaRue.

She was employed by the Alleghany School System as a cafeteria worker at Mountain View Elementary and Clifton Middle Schools.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she was a teacher for the young peoples class.

Surviving are her husband, Flemmie Gene Gibson, Jr. of Covington; her son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Renee Gibson of Ronceverte, WV; two grandchildren, Brian Bennett and Madilyn Gibson, both of Ronceverte, WV; one sister, Cindy Spruill of Clayton, NC; three brothers, Bobby LaRue, Billy LaRue and Mike LaRue, all of Jamesville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Elder Robert Sampson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
