Ellen Martin Watkins, wife of William Preston Watkins for 56 years, departed this earth to be with her Savior on February 20, 2019.

Ellen was a well-known and loved legal secretary in Lexington for 56 years.

She will be missed by all who knew her, but their love for her will never die. Her birds and her dog Sheba will continue to be cared for.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Yvonne Cross and husband, Bubba of Cross, S.C.; sister, Charlotte Seay of West Virginia; four grandchildren, Mitch Joyce and wife, Liz of Lexington, Bryan Joyce of Seattle, Wash., Paige Hyde and Lane Packard, both of South Carolina; one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews and numerous friends and associates from near and far.

At Ellen's request, there will be no formal services.

Thanks to Hospice and all of her friends and acquaintances who provided their help and service during these difficult times. Memorial contributions may be made in Ellen's memory to Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450.
