Former Lexington Resident Dies In Florida

Vivian Buchanan Watson Pyle, 89 of Sebring, Florida, died March 8, 2019 at her home surrounded by her husband and family.

Mrs. Pyle was born on December 6, 1929 to Walker and Anna Buchanan in Lexington.

She married Harry Pyle on February 14, 2009.

She was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Sebring. She worked for many years as a sales clerk at JC Penney for many years. She would spend time making flower arrangements, sewing and cooking.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Maj. James G. Watson of Panama City, Fla., Walker Watson of Gainesville, Fla., Mark Watson of Evergreen, Colo., John Watson of Chipley, Fla., Janna Scott of Sebring, Fla., and Anieca Carnes of Sebring, Fla.; one sister, Betty Buchanan Ferguson of Buena Vista; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Capt. James M. Watson USAF, who died in 1959.

The funeral will be conducted on March 16 at noon at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 854 Memorial Drive in Avon Park, with a visitation for one hour prior to service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Sebring.
