Obituary for Joey (Keith) Lockhart Joey (Keith) Lockhart
Army Veteran Was Assistant Engineer For The City Of Covington

Joey (Keith) Lockhart, age 80, of 438 East Trout Street, Covington, Virginia died Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center, Clifton Forge.

He was born April 17, 1938 in Covington to the late Joe Burton Lockhart and Ruby Wolfe Lockhart.

He served in the National Guard for over nine years and also the U. S. Army Reserve.

He was an assistant engineer for the City of Covington and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Keith enjoyed watching westerns on television. He also enjoyed bird watching and all sports.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty L. Cooke.

He is survived by his wife, Gailiece "Lisa" Saville Lockhart of Covington; three sons, Joey K. Lockhart and wife, Lauren of Charlottesville, Lance K. Lockhart and wife, Jennifer of Covington, and Shawn K. Lockhart and wife, Jennifer of Manassas; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Megan, Ryan, Zachary, Grace, Matthew, Luke, and Emily; two great granddaughters, or as he called them, his "girls", Ellie and Josie; and a nephew, Kevin B. Cooke.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Revered Dean Bowser and Revered Virgil Woodie officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington.

Pallbearers will be Keith's grandsons, Jacob, Ryan, and Zachary, as well as Johnny Bazzrea, Bruce Bazzrea, and Erich Mann.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Calvary Baptist Church Mission Fund, 113 North Wills Ave., Covington, VA 24426.
