Obituary for Albert Francis (Poss) Martin Albert Francis (Poss) Martin
Korean Conflict Veteran Was Longtime Golf Course Manager

Mr. Albert Francis (Poss) Martin, age 90, of Covington, Virginia died Sunday, April 7, 2019 at his residence.

He was the husband of the late Della Mae Martin.

Mr. Martin was born January 20, 1929 in Jumping Branch, WV, the son of the late Arthur Mason Martin and Mary Alice Kay Martin.

He served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

During his working career, Poss was employed by the former Hercules, was a past manager of the Cliftondale Country Club, Alleghany Country Club and worked at Massanutten Resort.

He loved to play golf and enjoyed being outdoors.

Mr. Martin is survived by two sons, Ricky Martin and Jo Gail, and Gary Martin; a daughter, Debbie Miller and husband, Timmy; grandchildren, Melinda Bryan and husband, Eddie, Tanya Martin, Heather Martin, Victoria Smith; great grandchildren, Josh Bryan and wife, Holly, Heather Davis and husband, Adam, Hannah Mae Wolfe, Korey Mattox, Kayden Martin and Kelsey Martin; great-great grandchildren, Dawson and Alivia Davis; and a number of nieces and nephews; and special caregiver and friend, Arletta Griffith. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Martin and Carl Martin.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Rollins officiating. Entombment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Graveside rites will be conducted by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Melinda and Eddie Bryan.
