Sarah Lackey Moore, 76, of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away Friday, April 5, 2019.

She was born March 22, 1943 in Mount Clemens, Mich,. the was the daughter of the late Lloyd F. Lackey and Ruth C. Lackey.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the Fairfield Presbyterian Church, where she married her husband of 14 years, Butch Moore.

Mrs. Moore loved to knit, read and do puzzles in her free time.

Sarah was a life long member of the Waynesboro Moose lodge as a Green cap and she also attended the Lexington Moose Lodge. She retired from Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital with over 40 years of service.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck F. Lackey; a sister, Mary Ann Froberg; and a grandson, Brendan Lackey.

She is survived by her husband, Butch Moore; son, Thomas Lackey and daughter-in-law, Paula Lackey; step-son, Bobby Moore; brother, Tom Lackey; sister ,Susan Lackey; sister-in-law, Shirley Lackey; and two granddaughters, Tara and Erin Lackey.

The family would also like to remember her Davita Dialysis nurse, Becky Blackwell.

The family will have a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Grace Trinity Church conducted by the Rev. Jim Reynolds. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
