Charles William Byers Jr., 63, of Lexington, Virginia died Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home.

Born November 28, 1955 in Richmond, he was the son of the late Charles William Byers Sr. and Lyda Pearl McNally Byers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stevie Byers. Charles was employed for many years as a carpenter with Woody McDonald Construction, and loved to spend his free time outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his ex-wife, Nancy R. Byers; children, Kelli Byers, Charles William Byers III, both of Buena Vista, and Melissa Byers of Wytheville; sisters, Karen Gibson of North Carolina, Angela Byers (David Campbell) of Staunton, Rachel Clark of South River and Jeannie Byers of Big Rapids, Mich.; three grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends too many to mention.

A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dean Staton. Burial will be private with family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 3700 Lombardy Ave., Buena Vista VA 24416 and Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers Street, Lexington, VA. 24450.
