John William Rapoza died at his home at the age of 84 in Lexington, Virginia on April 17, 2019 with his family by his side.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of nearly 63 years; daughters, Kathryn M. Crawford and Julie Ann Rapoza, and two granddaughters.

After retiring from the Southern Pacific Railroad with 42 years of service, Mr. Rapoza made his home in the Lexington area.

As a young man, he dedicated seven years to the Naval Reserves.

A funeral will be conducted on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church by Father Joseph D'Aurora.

Burial will follow at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial service at the church.

Visitation will be at Harrison Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25.
