Former Food Lion, Mick-or-Mack Meat Cutter Also Worked With Whiting Oil Company
Norman Andrew Nicely, age 83, of 3321 Shawvers Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his residence.
He was born May 7, 1935 to the late Harry and Laura Elsie Nicely Nicely.
He was a meat cutter for Food Lion and Mick or Mack grocery stores. He also worked for Whiting Oil Company as a delivery driver.
Norman served in the Virginia National Guard, was a member of the Central Advent Christian Church, where he served on the cemetery maintenance committee, and loved hunting and camping with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Nicely, and a sister, Mable Aldridge.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Glenda Vess Nicely of Clifton Forge; three daughters, Cindy Orndorff and husband, Bill of Clifton Forge; Sandra Warlitner and husband, Troy of Covington, and Norma Fay Nicely and friend, Kevin Jerman of Covington; three sisters, Beulah Teaford of Clifton Forge, Luana Sharp of Roanoke, and Carol Sharp of Fredericksburg; four brothers, Benny Nicely of North Carolina, Phillip Nicely of Stuarts Draft, Larry Nicely of Troutville, and Buck Nicely of Clifton Forge; eight grandchildren, Will Orndorff, Derek Orndorff, Travis Warlitner, Tanner Warlitner, Ariel Thompson, Faith Thompson, Destiny Thompson, and Andrew Thompson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Central Advent Christian Church with Reverend Gene Ayers officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Will Orndorff, Derek Orndorff, Travis Warlitner, Tanner Warlitner, Brandt Saville, Tim Warlitner, David Boyd, and John Nicely.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
