Cory Wayne Nida, 34, of 412 Winding Way, Covington, Virginia died Monday, May 6, 2019 in Lewis Gale- Alleghany Hospital at Low Moor.

Mr. Nida was born April 25, 1985 in Alleghany County, a son of Ronny and Rita Brewster Nida of Covington.

He was employed as a fork lift operator in the warehouse at Garten Trucking.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jessica Nida in 2009 and also by his grandparents, Leonard Nida and Glenn and Alice Brewster; and two uncles, Lenny Nida and Mike Brewster.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his son, Conner Lee Nida, and his daughter, Breeann Marie Nida, both of Covington; his brother, Jason Higgins of Charlotte, NC; his grandmother, Bettie Nida of Covington; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Noel officiating.

Interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
